High Performance Centre OYM
Success in high-performance sport is never accidental. The cooperation between Weltklasse Zürich and the Cham-based Athletikzentrum für Spitzensport OYM allows several “raw diamonds”, athletes of the Zurich athletics club, to train in state-of-the-art conditions and on the basis of the latest scientific findings. The innovation cell works to gain additional scientific knowledge for our sport and to help ensure sustainable success for Swiss athletics.
In its first year, the Swiss Diamonds Athletics Programme, which is managed by Flavio Zberg, helped generate four European U23 championships medals and qualifications for the Olympic Games. The project is financed by Weltklasse Zürich, the two sponsors UBS and Schulthess Maschinen AG, as well as through foundations and the athletes’ own funds.
