All Set for the New Diamond League after a Fantastic Night of Athletics in 2009

26.000 enthusiastic fans in the Letzigrund Stadium, 1 world record, 5 world leading performances, 1 Swiss record, and for additional national records: Zurich celebrated the sport of athletics on 28 August. The 2009 edition of the meeting will no doubt go down in history as a fantastic, very emotional night of athletics at its best.

2009 also marked the end of the 12-year Golden League era. The Weltklasse Zürich success story will continue with unforgettable world-class moments in the new Diamond League. As of next year, the world's best athletes will compete at 14 meetings around the globe for a diamond in 32 events.

Diamond League Final on Thursday, 19 August 2010 in Zurich

Weltklasse Zürich will stage one of two finals in the prestigious Diamond League: The hunt the first 16 diamonds will be concluded at Weltklasse Zürich on Thursday, 19 August 2010. One week later, another 16 event finals will be held at the Diamond League meeting of Brussels.
