With a perfect run over the hurdles in an incredible 12.24 seconds, Ditaji Kambundji beat the world's elite today – and was crowned world champion!

A historic moment for Swiss athletics – and one of the greatest triumphs in Ditaji's career to date.

Just under three weeks ago, she thrilled the crowd at the Letzigrund Stadium during World Class Zurich: with a second place finish and an equalisation of her Swiss record, she gave everyone goosebumps and showed that she is ready for great things.

Just two days later, she was back on the track at the UBS Kids Cup Swiss Final – this time not as an athlete, but as an ambassador and source of inspiration for the next generation.

Ditaji's journey from the UBS Kids Cup to the top of the world impressively demonstrates what is possible with passion, perseverance and hard work.

Today, she is not only one of the greatest inspirational figures for young Swiss athletes, but also a wonderful and authentic ambassador for Weltklasse Zürich and Swiss athletics.
