For Julien Alfred, competing in Zurich means returning to a venue filled with special memories. In 2025, she won the Wanda Diamond League 100-metre final at Weltklasse Zürich, capturing her second Diamond Trophy over the prestigious distance. “Weltklasse Zürich holds a special place in my heart thanks to its unique atmosphere and outstanding organisation. I am very much looking forward to racing in Zurich again this year in front of the Swiss crowd,” said Alfred.
World champion Melissa Jefferson-Wooden will make her first appearance at Letzigrund Stadium at Weltklasse Zürich 2026. The American has been in outstanding form throughout the season and most recently secured an important victory at the Wanda Diamond League meeting in Eugene. The most recent head-to-head meeting between Jefferson-Wooden and Alfred came over 200 metres in Rome in June, with the Olympic champion from Saint Lucia emerging victorious. Anticipation is therefore high for the next chapter of their rivalry in Zurich.
