All tickets sold for 2024 Weltklasse Zürich Zoo Run
All 1 000 tickets available for this year’s Weltklasse Zürich Zoo Run are sold two weeks prior to the fun run that will contribute to the protection of nature. Many families, members of the running community and, for the first time, work teams will line up for a good cause in the early evening of 8 May. A cooperation of Weltklasse Zürich and Zoo Zurich, the Weltklasse Zürich Zoo Run will be going underway for the third time already.
“Being able to get more than 1 000 Weltklasse Zürich Zoo runners moving is just fantastic! The jog through the zoo after the park’s gates close for the public is an extraordinary experience in an inspiring setting. I am delighted that we were able to reach so many families, members of the running community, and now work teams, and motivate them to participate in our charity run for the protection of nature. Exciting initiatives, such as the Weltklasse Zürich Zoo Run, emphasize our ambition to be much more than a meeting,” said Christoph Joho, Co-Meeting Director of Weltklasse Zürich.
Zurich Zoo Director Dr. Severin Dressen, too, is looking forward to the event. “The Weltklasse Zürich Zoo Run has become a highlight for me. It is great to see how many people – ambitious marathon runners, relaxed joggers, and participants of all ages – come together and put on their running shoes for a light-hearted run through our park. And they are motivated to do it to help protect nature: The proceeds of this year’s edition will go to the Kaeng Krachan National Park in Thailand. So, I would like to say thank you to all participants on behalf of Asian elephants already now,” he commented.
Among the more than 1 000 Weltklasse Zürich Zoo runners are some well-known locals and top athletes, including world U20 record holder Audrey Werro and Olympic triathlon champion Nicola Spirig. Zurich city councillor Filippo Leutenegger will be the one to fire the starting gun this year.
Just a few days after the Weltklasse Zürich Zoo Run, stadium tickets for the Weltklasse Zürich athletics meeting will go on public sale. Fans can secure their seats starting 14 May. After tickets went at record-breaking speed last year, Weltklasse Zürich expects the stadium to sell out very quickly for the 2024 edition of the meeting as well.
