Alison dos Santos (BRA), 2022 world champion, sensationally breaks the world record in the 400m hurdles! In a blistering run – already level with the previous world record holder Karsten Warholm (NOR), who started ahead of him, halfway through the race – he charged towards the finish. With clean final hurdle clearances, he lowered the Norwegian’s mark by 14 hundredths to 45.80. Jason Joseph sets the stadium on fire

110m hurdles European champion Jason Joseph (LC Therwil) provided the perfect start to a world-class evening. Shortly before the main programme got underway, with the Letzigrund Stadium already packed to the rafters, the Basel-based athlete from LC Therwil shifted into top gear in his specialist event. With a time of 13.12, he took the win and claimed his second victory after 2023. Against a predominantly European field, he once again underlined his continental dominance.
