UBS Kids Cup continues its success story: enthusiasm and activity at record levels
The UBS Kids Cup remains the largest and most successful youth sports project in Switzerland. In the 2025 season, the joint initiative by UBS, Swiss Athletics and Weltklasse Zürich once again demonstrated how deeply enthusiasm for physical activity, fair play and community is rooted across the country. From March to October, 152,464 children and young people took part in 1,053 events in schools and clubs – confirming the consistently high level of recent years.
“The UBS Kids Cup is much more than a competition – it is a flagship project for movement, fairness and the joy of sport. Every year, we see how children and young people participate with great enthusiasm and take away important values for their personal development. I am particularly proud that we succeed in ideally combining the joy of sport with talent development – and in building a bridge from grassroots to elite level,” says Marco Meili, Project Manager of the UBS Kids Cup.
A special highlight of the 2025 season was the success story of Ditaji Kambundji: the hurdler, once a participant in the UBS Kids Cup herself, secured second place at Weltklasse Zürich in the summer and then sprinted to gold at the World Championships. Her presence at the Swiss Final, where she answered questions from young athletes, underlines the strong connection between the project and Switzerland’s athletics elite.
With its combination of movement, enthusiasm and connection, the UBS Kids Cup remains a central pillar of youth development in Switzerland – and a driving force for the continued growth of athletics at all levels.
