From Zurich to Amsterdam: How world-class moments are preserved

Athletics is on the rise – and its stars inspire far beyond the stadium. We see this every year during the Weltklasse Zürich meeting week: sold-out stands, an electrifying atmosphere, and fans celebrating our sport. But the impact of athletics doesn’t end at the finish line – it also shines wherever athletes step into the spotlight as personalities.

A recent example is Femke Bol. The multiple winner and meeting record holder at Weltklasse Zürich has been one of the most popular international stars in our sport for years. Now, in her home country, the Netherlands, she has received a very special honor: her own wax figure at Madame Tussauds in Amsterdam.

We are especially delighted that Femke has also immortalized a piece of Weltklasse Zürich – with an original bib number from our meeting as part of her exhibition. A wonderful connection that makes shared sporting highlights visible.

«I have great memories of Weltklasse Zürich. The atmosphere in the stadium is always electrifying, and the event is superbly organized,» says the Dutch star. «Having my Weltklasse Zürich bib number as part of my figure at Madame Tussauds means a lot to me, as it reflects some of the highlights of my career.»

Stories like these show that athletics moves people – emotionally, internationally, and sustainably. And its stars shape the sport far beyond competition.
